Email analytics shows how your campaigns perform. It counts what happened to your messages and turns the counts into rates: delivery rate, open rate, click rate, bounce rate and complaint rate.
These numbers answer one question: did the campaign work? They also give you an early warning when something goes wrong. When bounces or complaints start to rise, you usually see it in your analytics before a mailbox provider starts to block you.
neuMails records six events for each message. Each event tells you something different.
| Event | What it means | What to check when it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Delivered | The receiving mail server accepted the message | Sending setup and sender reputation |
| Opened | The recipient’s email client loaded the message | Subject line, sender name, send time |
| Clicked | The recipient clicked a link | Offer, content, call to action |
| Bounced | The receiving server rejected the message | List quality. Remove bad addresses. |
| Unsubscribed | The recipient asked to stop getting your email | How often you send, and whether the content is relevant |
| Complained | The recipient marked the message as spam | Consent and expectations |
You can see each event per campaign, per subscriber and per recipient domain.
Every campaign gets its own report. The report shows opens, clicks, click-through rate (CTR), bounce rate and unsubscribe rate on one screen.
Put two campaigns side by side to see what changed. Did the new subject line get more opens? Did the shorter email get more clicks? The data gives you the answer, so you do not have to guess.
This works well with A/B tests in neuMails email marketing. The test picks the winner, and the report shows you why it won.
An average can hide a problem. Your total open rate can look normal while Outlook users see almost none of your emails.
The mailbox provider (MBP) breakdown splits your results by Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook. Each provider filters email in its own way. When one provider falls behind the others, the cause is usually your reputation or authentication with that provider, not your content.
When this happens, do two checks. First, check your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records with the email authentication wizard. Then run a seed list test to see where your email lands with that provider.
Your click rate tells you how many people clicked. A link heatmap tells you what they clicked.
The heatmap shows each link in your email and how often people clicked it. Use it to answer practical questions. Does the top button get more clicks than the text link at the bottom? Do readers click the product image? Then put your main call to action where readers already click.
Open tracking uses a small image that loads when the recipient opens the email. Apple Mail Privacy Protection loads these images automatically, before a person reads anything. This means some recorded opens are not real opens.
Use opens to compare campaigns sent to the same list. Use clicks to measure engagement, because a click needs a person.
A complaint does more damage than any other event. Each complaint tells the provider that a recipient did not want your email.
Gmail sets clear limits. Senders must keep their user-reported spam rate under 0.1% and must not let it reach 0.3% (Google’s sender guidelines). In practice, 0.1% is about one complaint per 1,000 emails.
neuMails monitors bounces and complaints for you. The system removes bad addresses from your sends automatically. It also alerts you before providers start to block your mail. If one list causes a severe spike, the platform pauses the send, so that one bad list cannot damage your IP for the long term.
| Tool | Question it answers | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Email analytics | How did this campaign perform? | You review results after each send |
| Email logs | What happened to this one email? | A user says an email never arrived |
| Seed list testing | Did the email go to the inbox or to spam? | Delivery looks normal but engagement falls |
Analytics tells you that something is wrong. Logs tell you what is wrong. A seed test shows where the email landed. Remember that “delivered” only means that the receiving server accepted the message. It does not mean that the message reached the inbox.
Do you want this data in your CRM or in your own dashboard? Use webhooks. neuMails sends delivery, bounce, open, click, deferral and complaint events to your endpoint in real time.
For data about one message, use the email logs. You can search them, export them as CSV, or get them through the API. Developers can start with the email API.
You do not pay for an analytics add-on or a premium tier. Every plan includes full analytics.
Your campaign data stays in India, on AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1), together with the rest of your account data. For more information, read about DPDP compliance. Sending at scale? See bulk email.
